Robert Jefferies was born and raised in the San Diego area. Until recently, he served as Food Director for the East County Transitional Living Center, a local homeless shelter that serves approximately 500 men, women, and children residing for up to one year. Robert provided three meals each day for all residents along with special holiday meals. In his capacity as Food Director, he was also responsible for contacting local grocers and other sources of food donations. During his tenure, he doubled the number of sources, allowing the shelter to provide meals for less than $.17 per person.
Robert was appointed Chef De Cuisine of East County, a group of experienced local chefs guiding aspiring chefs and students in establishing their careers. He is a member of the American Culinary Federation, a national Board of Chefs. In addition, Robert has received several accolades from major benefactors such as Veterans Village of San Diego and Feeding San Diego and is a member of many social clubs such as the Lions, Rotary, and others.
Robert volunteers his talents at many local events and functions. He is very well known and appreciated in East County, San Diego.
